| Use | 2-bromo-1-phenyl-1-pentanone is a white crystalline powder, Valerian ketone derivative. It can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. |
| preparation | at room temperature, add 500g (16.2 mol) to a 0.1 mL round-bottom flask phenylpentanone and 30.9g(0.3mol) of sodium bromide, after stirring well, add 24g(0.2mol) of 30% hydrochloric acid, and slowly add 19g(0.15mol) Dropwise 30% hydrogen peroxide, after the addition of , continue the reaction for 1~2H, TLC monitoring after the reaction, stop stirring, static stratification, wash with saturated sodium carbonate, saturated and brine, combine organic phase, concentrate and dry with anhydrous magnesium sulfate to obtain 2-bromo-1-phenyl-1-pentanone, bright yellow oily liquid, the yield was 95% and the purity was 98%(HPLC method). |
